Cable Trays have their use in carrying cables up to any length or to any direction easily, scientifically, and systematically. These carry the cables very smoothly. Our cable trays are free from corrosion, seepage and destruction, as their perforation allows continuous air circulation which further enhances the life of the cables.
For over head laying of cable trays, two types of cable trays are in use, namely Perforated Cable Tray and Ladder Type Cable Tray.
Perforated Cable Tray: These are U shaped M.S. Channels, with center perforation and two side edges. The edges may be perforated one or un-Perforated, fabricated from 1.6 mm or 2 mm thick sheet. Generally 2 mm sheet is used and its standard length is 2.5 mtr. The width of the center perforated portion, may vary from 50 mm to 1000 mm and the height of edges, may vary from 25 mm to 150 mm. Generally, open type cable trays are being used. On specific demand, its cover may also be fabricated. Covers are un-perforated channels, generally fabricated from 20 G sheet. The width of cover is 5 mm more, than the width of the cable tray. The height of edges of cover, is generally 25 mm. However, higher height may also be provided on specific demand. The thickness of sheet of cover is generally 20 G, higher thickness is quoted on demand. Length of the cover may be in one pieces or in two pieces.
Ladder Type Cable Tray: Its shape is like an ordinary ladder, having two sides and between these two sides, steps are placed. The two sides are un-perforated U channels, called RUNNERS. Runners standard length is 2.5 mtr and it is generally fabricated from 2mm or 1.6 mm M.S sheet. The center width of the runner may be 75 mm to 150mm and the height of the edge is generally kept 25 mm. The center steps, to be placed between the runner is called RUNGS. Rungs are also U shaped channels, having 30 mm center width with slots/perforation. The height of edges of rung is kept 15 mm. The length of rungs may vary from 150 to 1000 mm. In a standard length of 2.5 mtr runner, 10 rungs(steps) are welded, at a distance of 250mm, and thus the welding of 10 rungs, cover an area of 2250 mm, 125 mm is left on both ends, so that another Ladder type Cable tray may be joined, which will further make a distance of 250 mm in two steps/rungs.
PERFORATED AND LADDER TYPE CABLE TRAYS MAY BE PAINTED OR GI. GI IS FABRICATED FROM GI SHEET, GALVANIZING FROM 65 TO 75 MICRONS as PER IS: 2629 may also be supplied.
Technical Specification of Cable Trays:
NEC (NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE) and NEMA (NATIONAL ELECTRIC MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION) have set certain standards for Cable trays. As per their standards, these should be fabricated from 2 mm M.S sheet, confirming to IS: 226/1975 and if these are galvanized, Galvanizing should confirm to IS:2629.
